In a weekly comparison, the number of new corona infections has risen sharply again. According to the state scientific health department Sciensano, an average of 679 infections were reported per day in the period from July 3 to 9. This corresponds to an increase of 82% on a weekly basis. The number of hospital admissions for new corona patients has also increased slightly. The incidence in Belgium is currently 65.7.
