The non-profit association Nuevo Futuro has launched a tree donation campaign to rebuild the green lung of Casa de Campo, the entity reported in a statement.
Through the Web www.replantamadrid.comCitizens who wish to do so may donate their tree until June 30. The first 5,000 donors will be able to come to plant their own tree in October during the massive planting days.
The campaign is the response to the damage caused by the storm Filomena, with more than 70,000 trees suffering irreversible damage, the vast majority in Casa de Campo.
For now, 5,000 forest trees are waiting in the Municipal Nursery of the City Council to be replanted next October but the goal is to get 10,000 specimens.
