The NSDC said when the peak of the pandemic is expected

Peak incidence of COVID will begin on October 25 – NSDC Secretary

Danilov urged Ukrainians to be vaccinated against coronavirus, stressing that there are no problems with vaccines now.

In Ukraine, the peak incidence of coronavirus is expected in late October – early November. This was announced on Friday, October 15, by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov at a briefing following the NSDC meeting.

“We predict that the peak of this pandemic will come, let’s say, at the end of this month. It will be somewhere between 20, 25, 30 this month to 4-5 next month,” Danilov predicted.

He noted that about 50-52 thousand people can be in hospitals during the peak period.

Danilov noted that this will become a challenge for the health care system of Ukraine.

At the same time, according to Danilov, the only issue of concern to the authorities is the provision of oxygen.

He noted that with the Delta strain, which now prevails in Ukraine, it is extremely difficult for the patient to raise the oxygen level.

“We now need very large volumes of oxygen. If earlier, when a person was ill, 5-7-10-12 liters were enough, today we have cases when we need 15-20-30 at once,” he said.

It is known that on October 14 in Ukraine another 13,624 fell ill with coronavirus, and 202 people died as a result of this disease.

Among the new patients there are 1,777 children and 170 medical workers. 4947 patients were hospitalized per day, another 4591 people managed to recover.

Recall that there are four regions in Ukraine go to the red zone of adaptive quarantine.
