During almost six decades of work, he has created an opportunity to technically immortalize the artistic performances of our most visible music ensemble – symphony orchestra, choir, individual performer, most popular opera soloists, as well as amateur ensembles .

Farewell from Vilnius Kakša will take place in Riga’s Old St. Gertrude Church on Saturday, October 17, at 1 p.m.

“We have been with Vilnius in our daily work for many decades. It is safe to say that it would be difficult to find another such honest, conscientious, knowledgeable specialist in his field. He will be remembered with the best name by many of our most prominent musicians. “I have known Vilni for 47 years. We have never had a quarrel when working together. He was a person who could be fully relied on – extremely tidy and precise. When I came to the record, I could always be sure that everything I needed was ready and in order,” says sound director Kārlis Pinnis.

Vilnis Kaksis – sound engineer, undoubtedly a legendary personality and a great person. “My opportunity to learn the profession of sound engineer was also thanks to Vilnius. It is safe to say that his work is, although often imperceptible, but at the same time invaluable in the history of Latvian music,” says sound director Tālis Timrots.
