The North American box office hit its lowest level in 2023 last weekend.
The top five films of the weekend generated revenues of $31 million, less than the revenues of “Barbie” alone in its fourth weekend.
The horror film “The Nan 2” topped the box office during the past few weeks, with revenues amounting to $8.4 million. The new action movie “Expandables” came in second place, with revenues of $8.3 million.
The film “A Hunting in Venice” by British director and actor Kenneth Branagh fell to third place, with revenues of $6.3 million. Fourth place went to “The Equalizer 3,” which grossed $4.7 million. “Barbie” came in fifth place with revenues of $3.2 million.
