The Norman Marie Leautey closes a stage of her tour of Europe at the town hall of Rouen

For the past year, Marie Leautey has been traveling through Europe at the rate of one marathon a day, 6 days a week. The forty-year-old closed her stage of the day in front of the town hall of Rouen on Sunday January 10, 2021 at 1:30 pm.

Marie Leautey, originally from Deville-lès-Rouen, took on the crazy challenge of running across 5 continents. Leaving Portugal in December 2019, she finally had to partially modify her program following the health crisis. For the past year, she has been traveling through Europe at the rate of one marathon (over 40 km) per day, 6 days out of 7. In all, she has crossed 13 countries and covered 9,700 km.

Come back for a better start

At 1:30 p.m., Sunday January 10, 2021, the 40-year-old closed her stage of the day in front of the town hall of Rouen where a welcoming committee was waiting for her.

The opportunity for her to exchange a few words with the mayor of Rouen and the sports assistant. She also found some former comrades from Lycée Corneille.

It will leave next week for Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
