Direct consequence of these forecasts, Météo France has just placed the Nord and Pas-de-Calais in orange vigilance “very cold”, from this Monday February 8 at 5 pm and at least until Tuesday February 9, 4 pm. This change is explained by the forecast temperatures which should reach values well below the seasonal norms. For example, the average temperature recorded for a month of February in Lille is 3 ° C. The prefectures of Nord and Pas-de-Calais are also announcing the activation of level 2 of the “extreme cold” plan.
