A product has emerged to solve the wired cable problem, which has been listed as one of the few shortcomings of the VR HMD valve index. The ‘Nopio’ wireless adapter unveiled through the Kickstarter project is the protagonist.

Nopio is a product developed by an Australian startup of the same name and is a device that allows you to enjoy the tube index wirelessly. The Kickstarter fundraiser started on the 18th and now around $ 600,000 (around 840 million won) has been raised, surpassing the target of around $ 200,000 (around 283 million won). A Steam page was also opened on the 21st.

The way it works is simple. Connect the cable previously connected to the HMD to a separate adapter, connect the wireless connection device to the HMD, then place it on the head rest. There is no additional hardware to use it and it does not affect game performance as it does not use additional resources to use the device. The maximum usage time is 2 hours and an additional battery that can be worn on the body is also being developed.

Nopio’s currently set price is $ 387 per unit (approximately KRW 540,000) and can be purchased for $ 339 (KRW 470,000 hereinafter) at the time of pre-order. The fundraiser will continue until November and prototype production will begin as soon as the fundraiser concludes and the goal is to deliver 2,000 products by March next year.

More details about Nopio will be revealed later.
