The actions of prosecutors, officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission and police officers are related to the investigation of a loan granted to Gaitanski’s company by the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB).

Rumen Gaitanski’s name gained publicity in the 1990s, when it turned out that his companies DITC and “Wolf 96” had received the concession for Sofia’s garbage. It was discontinued in 2006 after the companies refused to clean and the capital was littered with garbage.

After a 3-year lull in Gaitanski’s affairs, in 2009, his name surfaced again in connection with a prepared concession for one of the largest deposits of kaolin raw material near Shumen in our country. “Müller Group”, associated with Gaitanski, was a candidate, but no deal was reached.
In 2018-2019, it became clear that Valka was back in Sofia’s garbage business, albeit through the back door. His company “Green Partners” has a contract with the municipal “Chistota Iskar”, to which it rents equipment for the cleaning of the “Lyulin”, “Krasno Selo” and “Krasna Polyana” areas. Meanwhile, Gaitanski won contracts for garbage collection in Stara Zagora, Sliven, Kardjali, Pomorie and elsewhere. And in 2020, “Zauba”, which is owned by “Wolf”, and the consortium “Green Partners BKS” took on the cleaning of 8 metropolitan areas.
In 2005, he emerged as the owner of the “Maria Luisa” bathhouse, which has been falling apart for nearly 20 years.
In 2022, it was revealed that, having already had experience in collecting the garbage, Gaitansky proposed to burn it.
His company “Petrurgia” has a project for a stone wool plant in the village of Varbovka near Pavlikeni.
At the moment, the director of RIOSV – Veliko Tarnovo, and the association “You decide”, which unites citizens of Pavlikeni municipality, are appealing to the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) the decision of the Administrative Court – Sofia region, which allowed the construction of the Gaitanski plant. In February 2024, the Supreme Administrative Court ruled in favor of “Petrurgia” in another case, confirming the decision of the Administrative Court – Veliko Tarnovo, that a new assessment of the amended development plan of Varbovka was not necessary.
Gaitanski also has business interests in aviation – he holds the concession of the airport in Gorna Oryahovitsa.
His company “Kristalna voda” won a number of orders under the “Environment” program for over 100 million BGN.
Ahmed Dogan founded his first company with Gaitansky. It is called “Water-Vital”. Dogan and Gaitanski each have 50% of the capital of BGN 20,000. They are also managers of the company, which they represent together and separately.
