His presence in the trio of elect was expected. Indispensable to FC Metz, where he has become the providential man, Ibrahima Niane started the season like a cannonball in September, with three goals scored against Nîmes and especially OM. It is therefore quite logical that we find him among the players nominated for the UNFP trophy for the month of September.
Author of a hat-trick against FC Lorient a week ago, Niane has scored all his team’s goals since the start of the season. With performances of this quality, the Senegalese striker could quickly compete for the UNFP trophy for the month of October. He may have won the one for September by then.
Guirassy quickly established himself
In front of him, Ignatius Ganago, one of the great architects of RC Lens’s excellent start to the season, is a valuable opponent. The Sang et Or forward scored four goals and provided an assist in September. The northern club partly owes him this third place on the Ligue 1 podium after only six days of the championship.
As for Serhou Guirassy, the third thief, he is no stranger to the good dynamics of Stade Rennais, leader of the French championship. Transferred this summer from Picardy, the center-forward trained in Laval proved to be the good pick of the Breton transfer window, notably by planting three goals in September, against Nîmes and Saint-Etienne.
If he continues to plant, his performance will not facilitate the return to earth of his teammate M’Baye Niang, after his aborted transfer, he who says he is ready to fight to regain a starting place.
