The Nokia X30 5G and G60 5G are official and will receive three Android systems

Numerous brand new Nokia-branded devices have arrived, both mid-range and entry-level, smartphones and tablets. Below, we will focus on the presentation of the Nokia X30 5G and G60 5G, the Snapdragon 695 chipset serves inside the devices, which means that they can be fair participants in the central field, from which they can be distinguished by the fact that the manufacturer offers an extended 3-year and 3-year Android system-wide warranty offers them support.

Nokia X30 5G

We can’t complain about the exterior, the smartphone features a metal frame, which is also made from 100% recycled aluminum in an environmentally friendly way. Although the back is made of plastic, 65% is also the result of recycling. The smartphone will be packed in a box also made up of 94% recycled paper and of course it will not have a charger, if someone needs it, buy it yourself.

As for the characteristics of the device, we have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, the panel resolution is Full HD +, the aspect ratio is 20: 9 and the refresh rate is 90 Hz. The brightness is on average 450 nits, but can reach 700 nits. Scratch protection is provided by Gorilla Glass Victus and the display also includes a fingerprint reader.

The Snapdragon 695 chipset mentioned in the introduction is inside the phone, which obviously isn’t the most powerful on the market, but it’s still a very efficient 6 nanometer chipset. In addition to the processor, two types of storage space / memory configurations are available, you can choose the 6/128 GB or 8/256 GB package, the storage space is always UFS 2.2 standard.

A 50 megapixel primary image recording module is used on the back of the Nokia X30 5G, equipped with an HMD optical image stabilizer, the sensor itself has 1 / 1.57 inch, 1.0 µm native pixels which can combine 4 in 1. On the back we also find a 13 megapixel module with an ultra wide viewing angle that detects the surrounding environment at 123 degrees. The selfie camera has a notch, has a resolution of 16 megapixels and also supports 4 in 1 pixel fusion.

The smartphone is part of the new program called “3-3-3 promise”, which means that the mobile will definitely receive 3 full Android versions, will receive security patches for 3 years and will be sold with an extended 3-year warranty. Since the Nokia X30 5G debuted with Android 12, its support will end with Android 15. It is also worth mentioning that the user’s personal data will be stored on servers located in Finland and strictly comply with the relevant regulations of the EU.

The hardware components of the smartphone get the energy necessary for operation from a battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh, the battery supports 33 watts fast charging. The battery is said to be able to maintain its capacity even after 800 charging cycles. The Nokia X30 5G boasts Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC support, supports eSIM and also it is not a disadvantage that the outer cover is resistant to water and dust according to the degree of protection IP67.

The distribution of the device has already begun, the starting price is 530 euros, or about 212 thousand HUF. The smartphone will be available in blue and white shades.

Nokia’s other 5G offering is also made environmentally, 100% of the plastic back panel and 60% of the plastic side frame are recycled. To ensure that the purchase of the smartphone is a lasting purchase, the triple triple promise also applies to it, which includes 3 updates of the operating system, 3 years of security patches and 3 years of extended warranty.

The phone’s display is 6.58 inches, again at Full HD + resolution, and while it boasts an image refresh rate above 120Hz, you have to get by with an LCD panel instead of an organic one. The maximum brightness can go up to 500 nits and scratch protection is provided by Gorilla Glass 5, which is a slightly older solution. Instead of a cutout, a tiny sensor island houses the 8-megapixel front camera.

As for the cameras, there is a 50 megapixel primary module on the back, but this time without optical image stabilization. The ultra wide angle unit is only 5 megapixels, but we also have a depth sensor, even if it is not specifically mentioned, it is probably a 2 megapixel solution.

The Nokia G60 5G still packs a Snapdragon 695 chipset, and as far as optional configurations are concerned, you can choose between 4/64 GB, 4/128 GB and 6/128 GB packages. Fortunately, the storage space can be expanded by using a micro SD card.

The device is powered by a 4500mAh battery, also certified for 800 cycles, which can be charged with up to 20 watts. In some markets, the required 20-watt adapter is said to be included in the smartphone package. The device has a hybrid network slot, which means that two network cards are inserted into the phone or a network card and a memory card, but because it is compatible with eSIM, it is also possible to use two subscriptions together with the Conservation extension. Not bad.

Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and an IP52 rating make the Nokia device even more attractive. The Nokia G60 5G can be ours for as little as 320 euros, which in Hungarian money means around 128,000 HUF.

Circular

A subscription service called Circular will soon be available with select Nokia-branded phones and tablets. Its purpose is to encourage users to keep the purchased device for a longer period of time. During the subscription period, if the particular device is accidentally broken or lost online, the replacement of the device will be taken care of immediately, at no additional cost. After a few years of use, the owner can return the mobile phone, which is looked after by HMD, after which the owner can decide to refurbish and resell it, or if it is no longer marketable, give it away. If none of these are an option, the smartphone is recycled. Yes, it is possible to take out a circular subscription with the two phones described above, but for now only interested parties can do so in the UK and Germany. A larger launch could take place in the coming months.
