The former policeman, who became famous especially for the raid on the Government Office from the time of Prime Minister Petr Nečas (ODS), defeated the member of the ANO movement Miloslav Janulík in a senate duel.
He is trying to enter politics for the third time. In 2021, he ran for the House of Representatives with his Oath movement. He finished just short of electability with 4.68 percent.

For this year’s June elections to the European Parliament, he managed to negotiate a coalition with the Motorists and put up a leader who precisely hit the mood of the Czech voters – an influencer who promotes internal combustion engines – Filip Turk. In the end, this managed to win two mandates out of a possible twenty-one for the coalition.
Róbert Šlachta ran from the last places, preferential votes brought him to the place of the first substitute. Now he too has won the election.
“I will vote against the government,” Róbert Šlacha told Novinky after the election results were tallied. In the Senate, according to his words, he wants to focus on regional issues and support volunteer firefighters. Especially by changing the legislation so that they have a better position in their relationship with their employer.
He wants to know what his project for the parliamentary elections will look like before Christmas. “We have to decide with the Motorists if we will go together and who will be the leader. The coalition works for me,” added Šlachta.
