Fahmy’s statements came during an interview with Al-Qahera Wal-Nas TV, where he said: “I said that the niqab is a danger to society. The country because no one has seen it …”
Fahmy continued: “Because at that moment I said that the niqab was a danger to society. Today a man is looking for a niqab. We don’t know if he is a man or you are ..”
She added: “This is my opinion … when, for example, you come to a school where there are children and the teacher is a woman wearing a niqab, what does that mean? How is this in facial expressions, in the language, eyes and lips that read, when you come to the hospital with the patients and then the nurse is veiled?
