The Nikon Z9 gets extremely cool

In most cases, professional cameras like this are lightning fast and prioritize high frame rate and focus precision over resolution and image dynamics. This is not the case with the new Nikon Z9, which has both an extreme frame rate and high resolution.

The Z9 is Nikon’s new flagship among the mirrorless full-frame cameras and a pure professional camera with 45.7 MP CMOS image sensor, 3D focus tracking, video in 8K 24p-60p and 4K 24p-120p and up to 20 raw images in series without cropping.

It is also the first camera that can take 120 frames / s, but then with 11 MP resolution.

The Z9 can thus be a camera that can be used at sporting events one day, where speed is important, in the studio the next day, where resolution and dynamics are more important, and in the forest the next day to look for rare animals.

As stated in the specifications, Nikon has kept its word when claiming that this is the most advanced camera they have ever made. The new focus algorithm can recognize up to nine different subjects in the same image (eye, face, upper body, dog, cat, bird, airplane, train, car and motorcycle) simultaneously and you can select one or more of the subjects in the autofocus menus.

The camera has two places for CFexpress cards, network connection, HDMI, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi transmission to software, server or Snapbridge and has an improved OLED viewfinder with 120 Hz and up to 3,000 nits brightness.

The touch screen on the back can be angled, even in portrait format, and several of the buttons have backlighting so that they are easier to find in the dark.
