New York, September 25 (EFE). The film ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ crossed the screen this Wednesday and became a trail of lights and sounds that illuminated the Bronx Botanical Garden in New York until November 30.
The large garden is a meeting place for the characters and landscapes of this Tim Burton film, which will come to life in 20 centers to welcome curious people who visit the Halloween town, led by the famous icon Jack Skellington.
Dozens of people came today to the media screening of this track – which opens to the public tomorrow, September 26 for $50 a ticket – and some even wanted to dress up as the main characters of the film and walk the path wearing Jack’s clothes. jacket and his skeleton mask.
This immersive show is born from the mind of the Spaniard Iñaki Fernández, founder of the production company LETSGO, the Brazilian Felype de Lima, the creative director of the show, Jeffrey Seller, the producer of the musical Hamilton, and Maggie Brohn, the director of operations of the display. Fernández has already worked with the world of Tim Burton in a successful laboratory installed years ago in Madrid; His respect for the director, he says, comes from the “worlds” he creates in his films that are able to transcend generations.
“(Tim Burton) is a lovely man, we have a lot of friendship with him and the truth is it’s a great pleasure to work with him. He is a very close and very careful person. When he has been with us he has taken out his brushes and started drawing to improve our work,” Fernández told EFE.
Although Burton was not involved in the creation of this track, the involvement of his creative team can be seen in the detail and care with which both the images of the characters and the landscapes the background to the story is made by Jack Skellington.
For Felype de Lima, the main characters of the film are “her children”: “I love Tim Burton’s films, since I was little I have always seen Edward Scissorhands, the Corpse Bride … I like a beauty, his way of telling about death, his monsters and ghosts.”
A “scary” walk through the city of Halloween
To enter the Halloween Village, the public must cross a large pumpkin of lights and a series of colored circles while the famous songs from the film are played at full volume.
