the night was calm in Dijon

Curfew obliges, the night of New Year’s Eve was rather calm compared to other Christmas Eve. The streets were deserted. The transition to the New Year was nothing of the usual holiday. And the authorities were watching to enforce traffic restrictions.

A large security force was deployed throughout the region. This was also the case in Dijon where the night was rather calm. Police counted five burnt cars. She arrested and placed in police custody a single individual for refusing to comply.

The curfew imposed from 8 p.m. was therefore respected by the population. No group of revelers on the horizon, a few passers-by fined … Dijon city center seemed emptied of its inhabitants.
