The Russian captain of “Washington” scored five goals and had three assists in four games and broke the all-time mark of 800 goals in the NHL regular season

Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin was named the NHL Players Union’s (NHLPA) Player of the Week, reported on the organization’s Twitter.
Since Dec. 9, Ovechkin has scored eight points (five goals and three assists) in four Washington games and helped his team to three wins.
In a game with the Chicago Blackhawks on the night of December 14 Moscow time, Ovechkin scored a hat-trick and reached the 800-goal mark in the NHL regular season. Only Wayne Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801) have scored more in the league.
In total, the 37-year-old Russian has 20 goals and 15 assists in 32 games of the season.
Ovechkin is a three-time world champion with the Russian national team and Stanley Cup winner with Washington (2018).
