The San Jose Sharks have traded Timo Mayer to the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League (NHL). About it informs NHL press office
Maiera is the San Jose’s top scorer and second scorer of the season. He has 52 points (31 goals and 21 assists). He is in the top 15 best scorers in the league. San Jose will keep 50% of the forward’s salary, whose four-year, $24 million contract expires this summer.
Mayer became part of a major exchange between the clubs. Together with the Swiss, “New Jersey” received 22-year-old Russian forward Timur Ibragimov, defenders Scott Harrington and Santeri Hatakka, goalkeeper Zachary Emond.
San Jose received 22-year-old Russian defenseman Nikita Okhotyuk, the rights to 21-year-old Russian defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin, forwards Andreas Jonsson and Fabian Zetterlund, a first-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, a conditional selection in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and 7th round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Okhtyuk has played ten games in the NHL this season. Completed them with a total utility of “+1” and a goal on the score.
Mukhamadullin signed a rookie contract with New Jersey in the winter of 2021. The 21-year-old striker spends the 2022/23 season in Ufa Salavat Yulaev on loan. He has 25 points (6+19) in 67 regular season games.
Ibragimov this season played in the American East Coast League (the third strongest professional league in North America).
