The seemingly decisive scene: DJ Moore takes a pass twelve seconds before the end and draws for his team.
DJ Moore (25) of the Carolina Panthers no longer had his emotions under control.
With 12 seconds remaining in the game against the Atlanta Falcons, the wide receiver caught a 62-yard high-risk pass from quarterback PJ Walker (27). With the touchdown, the Panthers equalized at 34:34, understandably Moore’s cheering knows no bounds. He jumps into the stands and celebrates exuberantly. But since he takes off his helmet to do so, the referees give his team a penalty, with consequences.
The next attempt to get the extra point with a field goal and therefore the victory in the last second is set back by 15 yards. Kicker Eddy Pineiro promptly missed the target from 48 yards and the game went into extra time. And there the Panthers actually lose with 34:37. Very bitter.
Eagles still unbeatable
However, the measure of all things in the NFL remains the Philadelphia Eagles. The Pennsylvania state franchise celebrates its seventh win in seven games. The Pittsburgh Steelers try to stop the Eagles’ run, but clearly fail. Quarterback Jalen Hurts leads his team to a comfortable 35-13 win with four touchdown passes, three for AJ Brown.
