Last April, Crystal Dynamics confirmed that it had begun work on the next major entry in the Tomb Raider franchise, but when can we expect an official game announcement? It is stated that at the end of this year.
Well-known insider Miller Ross has revealed that developer Crystal Dynamics is preparing to completely end support for Marvel’s Avengers and move the remaining small team currently working on the project to work on Tomb Raider. According to Ross, Tomb Raider is currently “under full development” and is scheduled to be fully revealed later this year.
Crystal Dynamics itself had also previously speculated that this could happen, with CEO Phil Rogers saying in November that new details about the project would emerge sometime in 2023.
The next Tomb Raider, powered by Unreal Engine 5, will be published by Amazon Games. Leaks claim that the game will take place in a modern world shaken by a mysterious cataclysm, and the main character will be a more experienced version of Lara Croft.
