The next edition ofEurovision Song Contestthe most important and followed European music competition, will not take place in Ukraine as it should have happened after the victory of the Ukrainian group of Kalush Orchestra in this year’s edition. Traditionally, in fact, the competition is organized every year in the winning country of the previous edition, but on Friday the organizing committee, that is the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), said that at the moment there are no conditions for the competition to take place in Ukraine in safety, due to the Russian invasion and the ongoing war. The venue for the next edition could therefore be the United Kingdom, this year’s runner-up country. The EBU said it will discuss this with the BBC, the UK national broadcaster.
The @EBU_HQ has issued the statement below regarding the hosting of next year’s #Eurovision Song Contest.
