The next Call of Duty game will be unveiled soon

The two developers Treyarch Studios and Raven Software have in each of their Twitter messages announced that they will soon reveal the next Call of Duty title. The game is coming this year, but the name has not yet been officially revealed.

Credible rumors from several teams, however, have already indicated that it is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that will be the title of the next feature in the shooter series, and that the Cold War will thus be the setting this year.

Extends over 40 years

This information has been supported by sources such as the website Eurogamer was in contact with in May this year. Gamer.no also reported a reliable leak last year, claiming that the Cold War is the arena this time.

The setting is then the same as in the first Call of Duty: Black Ops game from 2010.

The game’s action is rumored to extend over the war’s more than 40 years, and will reportedly include both the Vietnam War and the Korean War. It will also be darker than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, says sources.

Once again, it is Treyarch Studios that is behind it, the studio that has made all the Black Ops titles in the series so far. Raven Software, for its part, has collaborated with both Treyarch and Infinity Ward on several other Call of Duty games as an assistant developer, but this time the studio reportedly has a more active role.

Raven Software was also a co-developer on Call of Duty: Warzone, as recently reached as many as 75 million players.
