At 32 years of age and without a competition since June 2019 (on the lawn of the ATP 500 at Queen’s), the Argentine’s feelings have not been positive in the last few months, but he does not give up and continues to show great determination to get back in shape .

The Argentine tennis player started rehabilitation last Wednesday. “Good morning, it’s after half past six in Chicago. Well, I have a hard time sleeping on my leg with it, but I wanted to thank everyone who gave me the strength to keep going.
I say my first rehabilitation session is just around the corner and from now on I will do everything I can to play again, “Del Potro wrote in a post on his Instagram account.

Del Potro spoke of a “final” intervention because he hopes that after this operation he will be able to play again without any further problems.
After the post-op photo, his fans reacted immediately. It was also written by colleagues and protagonists of the tour such as Novak Djokovic, Marin Cilic, Gabriela Sabatini, Paul Annacone, Daniel Orsanic, Javier Frana and Mariana Pérez Roldán.
“Come on Delpo! Be strong, my friend. See you soon. I wish you a speedy recovery,” wrote Novak, number one in the world. “Take a rest, big man, then we’ll all wait for your return one day,” said American Annacone, 1986 world number 2 singles and 1987 number 3 doubles, but even more outstanding for his role as coach of Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Tim Henman.
After Del Potro and Franco Davin split in July 2015, versions of a hypothetical connection between the Argentine tennis player and Annacone emerged. “We talked a couple of times, yes. But it was a tough time for him when he returned from a wrist injury. I’m a huge fan of his and I consider him a friend, “Annacone confessed to La Nacion in August 2019.
