The news that the former chairman of a political party had joined the party bearing the white sun symbol was first conveyed by the Deputy Head of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi during an interview in the Pondok Bambu area, East Jakarta, Monday (13/2/2023). PAN Ketum Zulkifli Hasan who will deliver the announcement directly.
“Soon there will be an official announcement made by the ketum, there is a former political party chairman who was once in the DPR who will join PAN. Wait for the game date,” he added.
Viva Yoga Mauladi at that time closed the information meeting regarding the mysterious figure of the former political party chairman who would join PAN.
A few days later, the grating regarding this mysterious figure was revealed. Deputy Head of PAN Yandri Susanto stated that the former political party chairman in question was a retired officer in the government.
“The former chairman, God willing, is true. Now he is in government, retired,” Yandri said at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/2).
Just like what was conveyed by Viva Yoga, Yandri stated that Zulkifli Hasan would immediately announce the joining of the former political party chairman. The forum for this announcement is the National Coordination Meeting of the PAN Election Winning Body in Semarang, next Sunday (26/2). He said the event would also be opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Question marks at that time burst about who the person in question was. Only former heads of political parties and retired officers in Jokowi’s current administration.
Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno, when interviewed on Thursday (16/2), provided an analysis of this issue. He mentioned Wiranto’s name.
“In this country there are not many retired officers who are former party chairmen and are in the current government. Retired former party chairmen who are currently in government are most likely only Wiranto,” Adi said.
“There is also the name Sutiyoso, but Sutiyoso has joined another party if I’m not mistaken and is no longer in government,” he continued.
Adi said that judging from the characteristics in question, Wiranto was the closest. Because Wiranto was once the chairman of the party and is currently a retired officer in the government.
“If one guesses that are close to the characteristics conveyed by PAN, only Wiranto. First, Wiranto is a retired officer. Second, Wiranto is a former Hanura chairman. Third, currently in Jokowi’s government,” he added.
Now, Deputy Chair of the Advisory Council of the Hanura Party Inas Nasrullah also heard about Wiranto’s meeting with PAN.ga
“Yes, more or less, information is more or less like that,” said Inas when contacted, Thursday (16/2).
Inas said that the news was that Wiranto had joined PAN because he was welcoming the 2024 elections. However, he did not explain further about this.
“This joined PAN because the election is approaching,” he said.
Apart from that, Inas said that there was no discussion from Wiranto regarding his decision. According to him, since joining the Presidential Advisory Council, Wiranto has had no contact with Hanura.
