The New York Yankees qualified for the American League final on Tuesday. They defeated the Cleveland Guardians in five games in the second round of the MLB play-offs. The New York franchise has come a long way since being led by two wins to one by the Guardians, before winning their last two games (4-2 Sunday and 5-1 Tuesday).
The series was also interrupted by bad weather. Twice, one match had to be postponed. New York, MLB’s legendary franchise with 27 titles, will now face the Houston Astros and try to qualify for its first final since 2009. The series between the two teams will begin on Wednesday. The National League final will simultaneously feature the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres.
