The New York Stock Exchange starts in the green

(New York) The New York Stock Exchange started in positive territory Thursday at the opening after weekly applications for unemployment benefits lower than expected despite the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic: the Dow Jones advanced 0.10% , the NASDAQ gained 0.19%.

The day before, the flagship Dow Jones index had concluded up 0.20% to 29,883.79 points. The predominantly technological NASDAQ had dropped 0.05% to 12,349.37 points.

The broader S&P 500 index rose 0.18% to 3669.01 points, posting a new record, seven points above the previous one recorded the day before.
