The New York Stock Exchange opens higher, as the whole week suspended to the president of the Fed

The New York Stock Exchange opened higher as traders held their breath before a speech by US Central Bank (Fed) President Jerome Powell, due at 2 p.m. GMT.

After ending in decline Thursday, the three indices were in the green at the start of the session, the Dow Jones taking 0.25% to 35,302.78 points, the Nasdaq, with a strong technological composition, 0.26% to 14,984.29 points, and the broader S&P 500 index, 0.29% to 4,482.87 points.
