For their last game before flying to France, where they will play the “NBA Paris Game 2023” against the Chicago Bulls, Thursday January 19, the Detroit Pistons lost (104-117) against the New York Knicks on Sunday. Tom Thibodeau’s men continue their good run: 7 wins in the last 8 meetings.
Badly started in their meeting, the Pistons conceded 39 points in the first quarter. Between clumsiness in shooting, bad choices and loss of balls, the Detroit players let the Knicks take a lead which they kept until the end of the match, despite the last three tight quarters. As the two teams stood in a pocket handkerchief heading into the final quarter, the Montenegrin pivot took matters into his own hands and allowed his team to create a gap that the Warriors never managed to overcome. The Bulls end the week in the best possible way before doing like the Pistons and flying to Paris.
For their part, the Warriors have delivered a performance in the image of what they offer outside since the beginning of the exercise. Passives in defense, drafts in attack, they could not even rely on their leader Stephen Curry (20 points), discreet all game.
The Clippers rebounded well from their loss to the Denver Nuggets without Nikola Jokic on Friday, winning against the Houston Rockets (121-100) on Sunday. The Texans continue their series of setbacks: 10 in 11 games and sink even further into last place in the Western Conference.

However, after three neck and neck quarters, the Rockets’ chances still existed. But the Clippers well led by Terance Mann (31 points) and Kawhi Leonard (30) accelerated and bent the game in the final quarter (30-10) while the Rockets’ long-range address collapsed (5/22 shooting, 22.7%).
Nicolas Batum played 28 minutes during which he scored 5 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and delivered 3 assists.
