The New York Attorney General sued former President Donald Trump and his company on Wednesday, accusing commercial fraud that affected some of his most valuable assets, including properties in Manhattan, Chicago and Washington DC.
Attorney General Letitia James’s lawsuit, filed in the New York state court, is the culmination of the Democrats’ three-year civil investigation into Trump and the Trump Organization. Trump’s three eldest children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump, have also been named as defendants, along with two longtime business executives, Allen Weisselberg and Jeffrey McConney.
“Today I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for committing years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family and the Trump Organization.
“There are no two laws for people in this nation: former presidents have to meet the same standards as ordinary Americans,” the attorney general wrote in a message on social networks.

The lawsuit seeks to strike the heart of what made Trump famous, bringing into the black spotlight the image of wealth and opulence he married during his career, first as a real estate developer, then as host of a reality show on “The Apprentice. “And” Celebrity Apprentice “, and later as president.
