Following the recent unveiling of the IQ.Light headlights with LED Matrix technology, there are more snippets of information about what the new Volkswagen Amarok will be like. This time we can look at the rear of the car, which will have a large sign “Amarok”. It is pressed into the sheet, not glued to it.
–
This in itself is not so interesting, but the carmaker also revealed some of the parameters of the car. As amarok is a utility pick-up, the key parameters will be the payload and the highest weight of the trailer. The first will be up to 1.2 tons, depending on the version.
–
The second will be up to 3.5 tons, as is relatively common in cars of this class and as the first Amarok could. However, Volkswagen writes that such a heavy trailer will tighten a larger proportion of variants.
–
The previous generation of amarok has sold over 830,000 units worldwide. Its next generation will be introduced shortly and it will be sold in the Czech Republic from the first half of next year with a four-door cab, in the world of pickups called “double cab”. We can only hope that the payload of the promised 1.2 tons will still be.
–
The second generation of the Volkswagen Amarok pick-up will come in partnership with Ford – the car will share a platform and a range of components with the recently introduced ranger. The differences from the ranger will be enormous, as both carmakers often fail to emphasize – even some engines will be different.
