Volkswagen Amarok is preparing for the arrival of the second generation. However, it will no longer be created as part of our own development, but in cooperation with Ford. Sales will begin at the end of next year.

Since 2010, the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles division has also included an Amarok pick-up. Although it does not sell badly (over 800,000 copies), its future is highly uncertain. But then Volkswagen began an alliance with Ford, which saved Amarok. Its second generation will be derived from the Ford Ranger.
He has already introduced himself in the new generation, while the sibling is still waiting for his discovery. However, Volkswagen is already attracting Amarok to the upcoming premiere, as it has published other sketches of the upcoming news.
These build on previously published, thus Volkswagen reaffirmed reports that the Amarok was significantly different in appearance from the Ranger. Its front parts will be designed in a style, in the style of passenger Volkswagen. The headlights thus optically connect directly to the radiator grille.

On the contrary, the interior will actually be the same for both pick-ups. Also at Amarok, we can look forward to a large, vertically oriented infotainment display, occupying virtually the entire center panel. The same will also need an automatic transmission selector while the steering wheel appears specific.
Volkswagen describes the new Amarok as a premium pick-up, which suggests that it will continue to be an interesting alternative to the SUV rather than a typical worker. The car will even offer new assistance systems and new connectivity, selected innovations in the given segment are not yet common.
The offer of Volkswagen engines is still hidden, but it is indicated by information from the premiere of the Ranger. He made his debut with a two-liter diesel and a three-liter six-cylinder diesel, which are aggregates that we should also find at Amarok. The plug-in hybrid will probably also come in the future.
In addition, working with Ford also means shifting production. The current Amarok was produced for Europe for several years in Hanover, the home plant of the VW Commercial Vehicles Division. However, this German factory will reorient itself to the production of electric cars in the future, and so on Amarok production will move to South Africa, to the Ford plant in Silverton. For South America, however, Amarok will continue to be built in Argentina, at the Pacheco factory.
Although Volkswagen is already tempted to unveil Amarok, we will still wait for it in Europe. Sales on European markets will not start until the second half of 2022. The production of the current Amarok for Europe, by the way, was terminated last year, while in non-European markets the car continues.
