A new figure that already operates in the three sandy areas of Gijón and whose main task will be to monitor and inform users. This is one of the measures contemplated in the beach capacity control protocol that the City Council has put into operation with the entry of our region into the step 3. Actions to be carried out in San Lorenzo, Poniente and Arbeyal throughout the summer. He protocol marks that the three urban sandy areas will be divided by sectors and will be the ‘accommodators’ those that indicate to bathers which area they can go to depending on the capacity, which, in San Lorenzo, will vary with the tides. On all the beaches there will be limited areas to maintain the safety distance, transit areas when going down to the beach or leaving it, roads through which you can move and a few meters, next to the shore, reserved for the walk. In addition, it will be forbidden to practice sports from ten in the morning until eight in the afternoon, with the exception of those sports organized by the Municipal Sports Board or by companies like those that organize surf courses.
