A new WhatsApp feature is designed to simplify the management and use of group chats. The feature, called community, allows you to group several group chats into one main topic.
For example, subsidiary Meta cites a community for the local school with group chat for individual classes or a community for a neighborhood, divided into areas of interest. Community members can connect with each other even if they are not chatting together.
Administrators have ample options to ensure that this too runs smoothly. WhatsApp has also set up an educational area on the web to learn about all the possibilities of the new function. Communities will be rolled out as part of upcoming WhatsApp updates and will be available to all users in the coming months.
New Features: Surveys, Video Chat, Reactions
WhatsApp is also introducing three other new features. In the future, it should be possible to create chat polls and make video calls with up to 32 participants. In addition, the number of users in group chats has doubled. From the previous maximum of 512 members, in the future it will be possible to create groups with 1,024 members.
All members can also use emoji reactions, wider file sharing, and admin delete option in each group. According to WhatsApp, however, these are particularly useful for communities.
