Every summer, its new trend! And if there’s one we didn’t expect, it’s this one. The inverted bikini, also called in English the upside down bikini, keeps appearing in our Instagram feed and for good reason, all the it-girls of the moment have adopted it.

If for several seasons, we know that the arrival of sunny days rhymes with imposing sandals inspired by the famous Chanel or linen outfits and colorful scarves tied in the hair, we did not think that the wearing of swimsuits was going to be revolutionized. It is however done. And yes, the bikini is no longer worn classically, we tell you more.

What is the inverted bikini?

If the emerging trends are generally baptized by wacky names, this time, this new clothing style corresponds to its name, since it consists of wearing your bikini upside down. No more triangle fabric at the chest, tied around the neck and in the back, the ties are now crossed at the neckline while the gathered bikini is placed between the two breasts.

This trend is so popular that it is fast becoming the most popular way to wear your swimsuit. From Kendall Jenner to her sisters, via French influencers like Lison Sebellin or Iris Mittenaere, they all wear it on their Instagram account.

And brands have understood this. While some it-girls twist their own classic bikini model themselves, others acquire new creations. Brands like Asos or Na-Kd have therefore imagined their inverted bikini.
