Tesla originally planned to launch the new Roadster in 2020. However, it did not work out and it will not work this year or next year.

Carmaker Tesla began its existence with the Roadster model, an electric-powered sports car produced between 2008 and 2012. In 2017, Tesla announced that it was preparing its second generation, when even she was shocked by the performance and its concept, during the presentation of the Semi truck. However, we have not yet received the notified sports car and we will not see it for some time yet.
The new Roadster is another Tesla model, the launch of which is gradually being postponed by the American manufacturer. When the concept was introduced, the carmaker announced its entry into the market in 2020, but this did not happen, probably also due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, Elon Musk admitted that other projects would be given priority first. According to last year’s statement, Roadster was not to be introduced until after Cybertruck, planned for 2021 at the earliest. But in the end, there will be no speculated arrival of the serial Roadster in 2022.
Elon Musk has now announced on his favorite social network Twitter that the new Roadster “should be handed over” from 2023. He explains that this year is “super crazy” due to supply chain problems (mainly due to lack of production components), and so postponing the start of production is said to not matter. In today’s situation, he said, the company could easily have 17 new products and still have none to supply any of them.
The American visionary born in South Africa thus indirectly confirmed that Tesla must also fight the lack of components. At the same time, it has so far seemed that the American carmaker has so far succeeded in solving these problems, its production has even grown this year. Management explained that the manufacturer had solved the lack of chips by developing new ones. Only at the turn of February and March in the American Fremont did production stop for a while, due to the lack of unspecified parts.
Tesla therefore prefers to bet on models with greater business potential, such as pick-up Cybertruck, which has also been delayed so far. As a result, the new Tesla Roadster will reach customers no earlier than six years after the concept premiered. During his debut, Musk announced that it would be the fastest production car in the world, managing to accelerate from 0-96 km / h in 1.9 seconds. Since then, however, Tesla’s competition has grown, for example Croatian Rimac, and so the question is whether this goal will be achieved by the American brand.
