The new Switch will be released in the fall. What will he look like and what will he be able to do?

The novelty is called Switch OLED, which the manufacturer refers to the most fundamental improvement – the use of a seven-inch OLED display. It should offer a more faithful color rendering, significantly better contrast and, last but not least, a larger size. The original Switch had only a 6.2-inch screen.

The internal storage has also been improved, now offering a capacity of 64 GB instead of the original 32 GB. However, other hardware that contributes to the overall performance of the console remained unchanged. In practice, this means that all titles can be played directly on the console in 720p and in the dock on a TV or monitor in 1080p.

In addition, the aforementioned dock now offers a LAN connector, and the console itself boasts an improved audio system and a completely redesigned adjustable stand. It is now larger, so it should be much more stable when playing.

The basic concept of the Switch should be retained, it will still be a console for playing at home and on the go.

The classic Switch is first and foremost a full-fledged TV console. The moment you pull the device out of the supplied docking station, you have a pocket game system with its own screen. Nintendo thus eliminates the need to purchase two devices, as only one is needed at home and on the road.

The device has removable wireless controllers on both sides, which are called JoyCon. The player can have a remote control in each hand, or one can lend it to a friend to play with. Of course, you can also buy more so that more people can play on the system at once.

We will be able to try all the improvements already this autumn. The OLED switch should appear on store shelves on October 8. The price abroad was set at $ 350 (CZK 7,650), but in the Czech Republic it will probably be several thousand crowns higher due to import costs and VAT.
