Over the past few weeks, we’ve shown you a photo that Subaru has released, confirming that we’ll see the Impreza WRX by the end of the year, without giving details about what the model’s specifications will be or even what it will look like.
Earlier today, a report from Goo-Net appeared, according to which the new Impreza in modifications WRX and STI will have the same 2.4-liter engine that we can find in most models of the brand in the United States, as well as in the updated Toyota GR86 and the identical Subaru BRZ.
The documentation also reveals that the atmospheric engine has already acquired a turbocharger to add more power to the most sporty models of the Japanese brand. The WRX version is expected to generate about 300 horsepower, and the more powerful STI to raise the bar to 350 horsepower. Of course, the drive is transmitted to all four wheels, and the transmission will be mechanical or automatic at the customer’s choice.
