The new Škoda Karoq will be introduced on November 30

Since its launch in the spring of 2017, the Škoda Karoq has played a large role in the success of the Czech carmaker. Since then, you’ve been alongside your “big brother,” the model Kodiaq, this compact SUV has gained a number of customers and specialist media around the world and has significantly shaped the development of the Škoda brand in recent years. To date, more than half a million Karoq cars have left the line.

In 2020 and in the first half of this year, the Karoq was the best-selling SUV of the Škoda brand and, after the Octavia, also the second most popular model of the brand. The rejuvenated Škoda Karoq model will debut on November 30 as part of a digital presentation for the media.

“Thanks to the generous offer of space and the typical functionality of the Škoda brand, Karoq has fascinated our customers from the very beginning. Last year and in the first half of 2021, it was our most sought-after SUV model, which clearly demonstrates its crucial importance in our portfolio. I am convinced that the rejuvenated Karoq will build on the successes to date and gain new customers for the Škoda brand, ” says Martin Jahn, Member of the Board of Directors of Škoda Auto for Sales and Marketing.

With the Karoq model, the Škoda brand took the second step of its SUV offensive in 2017, making this model line an important part of real success: In 2020, the SUV segment accounted for almost 40 percent of Škoda’s worldwide sales. In 2020 and in the first half of 2021, the Karoq was even the most sought-after SUV of the Škoda brand and the second best-selling model of the Czech carmaker after the Octavia model. Since 2017, more than 500,000 Karoq cars have left the line, which is currently available in 60 countries around the world. Škoda manufactures this model in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and China.

Emotional design and typical advantages of Škoda cars

When launched, Karoq followed the Kodiaq design language with crystal elements, dynamic shapes and sharp lines. In addition, the model name with the initial letter “K” and the letter “Q” at the end also followed the typical SUV nomenclature of Škoda models. The name comes from the language of the Aleutian tribe, the original inhabitants of Alaska. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Karoq is suitable for city driving, but at the same time Offroad mode, high ground clearance and optional all-wheel drive allow you to drive off paved roads.

Its extremely good offer of space and large luggage space make it an ideal car for families and lifestyle-oriented customers. The optional VarioFlex rear seats are just one of the many Simply Clever features of the functional Karoq model. This car also offers a high level of passive safety, numerous assistance systems, even greater comfort and a range of modern connectivity solutions.

Numerous awards from international professional media

In addition to great popularity with customers, the Škoda Karoq is also successful in international professional media. This is evidenced by the numerous awards the model has been collecting since its debut in 2017. In its first year of sale, the Karoq in Germany, the largest market in the Škoda brand, won awards from the most widely read motoring magazines. Auto Bild magazine awarded him the “Golden Steering Wheel” for the best small SUV, and auto motor und sport magazine awarded him the “AUTONIS” award for the best new design in the compact SUV class. category of the best imported SUVs worth up to 25,000 euros in 2017, 2018 and 2019 far behind. In 2018, he convinced the participants of the “Best Cars” reader poll of the auto motor und sport magazine, thus securing the title of the best imported car among compact SUVs and off-road vehicles. The car was also voted “Car of the Year” in the Czech Republic and Greece and “SUV of the Year” in Bulgaria, and won the “The Fleet News Awards” in the UK.
