For a year, the health context has plunged many students into isolation. Distance courses and the reduction of social interactions are sometimes badly experienced.
To help young people, the ministry has just put online this Wednesday March 10, a free and anonymous site: Santé Psy Étudiant. The site allows each student to have a free follow-up with a psychologist.
The platform comes to concretize the implementation of “psy checks” announced by Emmanuel Macron and implemented from February 1 in certain departments.
500 listening psychologies
The site currently offers a list of 500 psychologists and details the terms of the support program. The list should grow in the coming weeks.
Students can choose their psychologist and make an appointment with him directly. The sessions are limited to 45 minutes and professionals specify on the platform whether they are equipped for videoconference sessions.
The sessions, which can last up to 3 meetings, are completely free. If necessary, the attending physician can renew them.
Relieve congestion in medico-psychological centers
The platform aims to relieve congestion in medico-psychological centers (CMP), which already offer psychological and psychiatric consultations free of charge.
Note that several other services are already available to students. The site student-support.info, launched during the epidemic, lists all the existing psychological support services within the thirty French academies. University psychological assistance offices (BAPU) also remain available for medium and long-term support.
