So far, it has only been Samsung’s most expensive top mobiles – like Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 – which has had a high refresh rate of 90 or 120 Hz.
Normal mobile screens have 60 Hz and the higher frequency makes the user experience extremely easy to flow and fast, especially when you move around in the mobile menus and scroll through web pages.
But now the high update speed also comes to three Samsung mobiles in the middle class. These are the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72, which the Korean electronics giant has just launched.
In addition to the quick screen update, the three mobiles have several other things in common. Among them, they are equipped with a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, and have a quad camera with a wide-angle main lens of 64 Mp.
Samsung Galaxy A52
The smallest and cheapest of the three mobiles costs about as much as Motorola Moto g 5G Plus, but can do without 5G.
Under the 6.5-inch S-AMOLED screen (2400 x 1080) is a Snapdragon 720 processor with LTE technology as well as 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage space, which can be expanded with microSD cards. The screen refresh rate is 90 Hz.
The main camera is as mentioned at 64 Mp and in addition there are three more lenses: 12 Mp ultra-wide angle, 5 Mp macro and 5 Mp depth sensor. The main lens has optical image stabilization, but no optical zoom. Samsung’s price tag says SEK 3,800.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G
The slightly more expensive 5G version of the A52 has roughly the same specifications but of course 5G support, while the regular Galaxy A52 has to settle for LTE. That’s why it’s a Snapdragon 750G processor that drives everything.
Both the screen size and resolution have the Galaxy A52 5G in common with the LTE version, but as the only mobile in the new Galaxy A series, the 5G model has a screen that has 120 Hz in refresh rate.
Both Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G have a 4500 mAh battery that supports up to 25 watts fast charging. Both models include a charger, which is only 15W.
Galaxy A52 5G gets the target price of SEK 4,700.
Samsung Galaxy A72
The largest mobile phone in the series has a 6.7-inch screen. However, the resolution is the same and the A72 has the same refresh rate of 90 Hz as the regular Galaxy A52. The Snapdragon 720 processor as well as 6 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in storage also have the two mobiles in common.
What really sets the Galaxy A72 apart from the other two mobiles in the series is the camera. Here too, the main camera has 64 Mp and OIS and has 12 Mp ultra-wide angle and 5 Mp macro lens. But the A72 is the only one in the series to have an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Due to its size, the phone has a 5000 mAh battery, and in addition, Samsung ships with a 25-watt charger.
The price for Samsung Galaxy A72 with 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM will be SEK 5,000.
More features from the Galaxy S series
Although the new Galaxy A mobiles have prices that are a good distance from Samsung’s expensive top models such as Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, you get some of the top models’ special features.
These include 4K Video Snap, which allows the user to take 8 MP still images from 4K video content recorded with the phone, and Quick Crop, which allows the user to zoom in on details in images taken in 64 MP resolution, thus creating completely new images of the same motive.
Young users probably appreciate the Music Share feature, which lets two mobile phones play music on the same headphones or speakers without the need for users to think about Bluetooth pairing and more.
Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G and A72 are released on the Swedish market today.
