The Range Rover has been the Land Rover’s flagship for decades. However, a lot has changed in the four generations of this luxury SUV, the car has grown new competition, so it can no longer benefit from its unique position on the market. It’s so clear that the designers are putting all their effort into the upcoming fifth generation of the Range Rover.
We will soon see their work. The British carmaker has already officially announced that the new Range Rover 5 will be introduced to the world later this month. The official unveiling is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, at 9:45 PM CET. Live broadcast from the premiere will then be possible watch on the company’s YouTube channel from 8:45 pm.

The invitation to the premiere is attracted by the first shots of the new car, from which, however, it is not very obvious, except that the characteristic silhouette of the Range Rover will remain. In the meantime, however, the first shots of the car leaked to the Internet, confirming only the evolutionary changes. The bow is very similar to before, but the door now uses retractable handles. The stern has undergone the biggest change, with newly designed taillights.

However, the fifth-generation Range Rover is not only a highly anticipated car in Britain’s home, so many details have already come to light before the unveiling.

The key information is that the Range Rover 5 will use a completely new technical basis, in the form of a newly developed platform called MLA Flex, which will then also be used by the derived Range Rover Sport. The architecture is to be adapted to electrified drives, as the new “Range” will also be available in the form of a plug-in hybrid and a battery-powered electric car. The advantage should be lower weight thanks to the aluminum construction.
However, it will also retain conventional derivatives. Six-cylinder own design at the same time as expected, it will complement the 4.4-liter eight-cylinder fork from BMW, which will replace the existing V8 compressor five – liter. The reason is not only easier to pass the emission standards, but also to reduce the development costs for the creation of a new unit. However, the architecture will also be adapted to the latest generation of infotainment to enable online updates, over the air.
Despite the upcoming premiere, however, customers will have to wait a while for the Range Rover 5. It will probably not hit the market until the spring of 2022. In any case, the offer will gradually expand, with an extended version arriving again and the newly mentioned electric car, which will probably come at a later date.
