The school will start inestate of 2021 (Covid emergency permitting) with the launch of the first Summer Camp in Italy. These are highly specialized technical courses aimed at young people from 8 to 16 years which will take place in some of the most beautiful holiday resorts and will be conducted by the technicians of the “Buffon Academy” and by some of the best goalkeepers of professional clubs.
Initially all subscribers will be individually evaluated, thus creating individual and personalized training programs. Then focus on several fundamental issues to undertake a career as a goalkeeper: from technical gesture to individual tactics contextualized to the collective game, passing through the ability to read situations and much more. The training course will be supported by the most advanced and professional technologies of match analysis: each child will in fact be constantly filmed during the activities and the participants – divided into small groups of homogeneous age and technical skills – will analyze together the salient aspects that emerged in the various sessions.
The same Gianluigi Buffon he told about the choice to start this path: «I have always believed in the value of training, even more so in this complicated period for each of us. The Buffon Football Academy was created to offer boys and girls aged eight to sixteen a highly specialized path, aimed at improving the technical skills of those who dream of a future in the world of football. It is a complete full-immersion, with a personalized training program created ad hoc for each goalkeeper. We hope to be able to kick off the ‘Buffon Summer Camp’ already in June and my wish is for to be able to meet the boys on the 13th of the same month in Marina di Pietrasanta, but obviously the start of the activities is subject to the Covid emergency ».
