President Rumen Radev announced the Deputy Chairman of the Audit Chamber, Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva, as a candidate for acting Prime Minister, according to a press release from the head of state’s press office.

At 10:30 Radev will receive the candidate for caretaker prime minister in the presidential institution to instruct it to form a caretaker government.

Until this morning, the rumor was that the next acting prime minister would be Petar Chobanov from DPS, who was finance minister under the government of Plamen Oresharski, and since last year he has been the deputy governor of the BNB.

Goritza Grancharova – Kozhareva was born on April 9, has a master’s degree in “Accounting and Control” from the Academy of Economics in Svishtov.

Over the years, she has held the positions of head of the “Audit Department” performing financial audits, financial management compliance audits and performance audits and led a working group for the development of the “Compliance Audits” part of the Handbook for the Implementation of Internationally Recognized Auditing Standards and Audit activity of the Audit Chamber; member of the Advisory Board of the Audit Chamber; chief expert at the National National Agency for National Statistics.

From April 13, 2005 to January 26, 2011, he was a member of the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Bulgaria, and from June 11, 2014 to March 26, 2015, he headed the audit department covering the National Assembly, the Presidential Administration, the Council of Ministers, the Constitutional Court, Ombudsman, BNB, MTSP, Ministry of Youth and Sports, several central commissions and higher schools.

On April 9, 2015, the National Assembly elected Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva and Toshko Todorov as vice-chairmen of the Audit Chamber, after the two were proposed for their positions by the then chairman of the Audit Chamber, Tsvetan Tsvetkov.
