/ world today news/ On December 12 and 13, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Vietnam. During it, the two countries announced that they will build a strategic community of shared destiny with each other, thus entering a new period of bilateral relations.
A commentary by the Vietnam News Agency said Xi Jinping’s visit was “a new historic milestone in bilateral relations” and expressed the willingness and determination of the two countries to work for the benefit of their peoples.
This is Xi Jinping’s third visit to Vietnam since 2015 and shows Beijing’s high attention to the development of bilateral ties. As Communist Party-led countries, both China and Vietnam have the same social order and systems, as well as a similar development path. Currently, China is striving to realize Chinese-style modernization, and Vietnam is also accelerating the process of national industrialization and modernization, and this gives more opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Beijing proposed that the two countries jointly protect the global free trade system, the security, stability, efficiency and inclusiveness of the global industrial and supply chain, and encourage large Chinese companies to invest in Vietnam.
The construction of a strategic community of shared destiny between China and Vietnam will become a new starting point for the development of bilateral relations. It will also allow the two peoples to not only live better, but also bring more positive energy to the Asia-Pacific region and the world.
