The new Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is here. The purist version for roads has a manual

The Touring package proved to be popular in the last generation Porsche 911 GT3. And so the carmaker will offer it for the current 911 GT3.

The Porsche 911 has been one of the most versatile sports cars for years, mainly due to the wide range of derivatives targeting a different type of clientele. Three body variants (coupe, convertible and targa) complement various performance levels, inclusive of the top Turbo S competing with supersports or maybe circuit-oriented version of GT3. And it is this that is newly available with the Touring package.

The carmaker has offered this since 2017 for the last generation 911 GT3, for which it proved to be very popular, so this package is now also available for the current 911 GT3. Specifically, it targets customers who love the atmospheric 911 GT3 engine, but would like a car more focused on ordinary roads.

The elements of the package are directly related to the predecessor. This means that the hallmark of the Touring version is the automatically retractable spoiler at the rear, which replaces the fixed wing of the default GT3. This required further stylistic adjustments to the back, such as aluminum moldings around the windows or the Touring sign on the back.

The GT3 engine in the form of a four-liter atmospheric six-cylinder boxer with an output of 375 kW can then again be paired with a six-speed manual, which is another key element of the Touring design. Unlike the previous generation, however, it will also be possible to order a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission for this package.
