The second generation of the Peugeot 308 lasted on the market for eight years, but gradually competed with the new generations of the Golf, Octavia or Toyota Corolla. The new edition, which has already received Czech awards, but the first cars will not actually arrive until January next year, but it returns to compact models with a lion in the emblem. And not only figuratively, but also literally – the 308 will be the first Peugeot to receive a new, more distinctive logo. This is in line with the innovative and unmistakable body and interior design.
The basis of 308 is a redesigned version of the modular platform EMP2, with which the car is stretched to 4367 mm and has 2675 mm between the axles. In both cases, it is more than its predecessor, while the five-door hatchback also expanded and fell. A station wagon with the traditional SW designation will also come to the market, you just need to wait a while for it (even though Peugeot has already introduced it).
The case can hold 412 or 361 liters, depending on which drive you have in your bowels. In order to reduce emissions and consumption, the French decided to come up with two plug-in hybrid versions in addition to two petrol and one diesel engine. The weaker has a total of 133 and the stronger 165 kW, in both cases the front wheels turn an eight-speed automatic. The battery has a capacity of 12.4 kWh and allows you to drive in the combined mode of 60 or 59 km only on electricity. Consumption is in both cases at the level of 1.1 and 1.2 l / 100 km, respectively.
However, the basis of the offer is an 81kW three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech with supercharging and a manual six-speed transmission. There is also a more powerful version with 96 kW, but here the customer can pay 55 thousand for an eight-speed machine. The same money costs the automatic system in a single turbo diesel 1.5 BlueHDi with an output of 96 kW. He also has a standard six-speed manual transmission.
