Astra, like smaller corsa or mocha, will undergo logical changes towards the technology of the PSA group, or the French-German part of the giant Stellantis. Instead of the technology that the current generation has been carrying since the days of General Motors, it will receive the innovative modular platform EMP2, on which new Peugeot 308 or DS 4.

The new era of Opel is also reflected in the design itself. With a bow called Vizor, sharply cut LED flashlights or a simply designed stern, it will resemble a crossover mocha. As well as in the interior, where the Germans boast two screens connected into one continuous area.

With the new foundations, we can expect a completely different technique, the novelty should lose weight between generations, inherit a three-cylinder petrol twelve-cylinder, a diesel fifteen-cylinder or a plug-in hybrid system with a petrol sixteen-cylinder.

While the current generation is coming off the tracks in England and Poland, the production of the novelty will start this year in Rüsselsheim, Germany, alongside the aforementioned premium relative, the hatchback DS 4. In the coming months, we expect a full premiere, while the new importer should at the beginning of next year.
