The new Kia Sportage does not look like the old generation at all

The first official images of the new Kia Sportage have appeared, and the car does not look at all like the generation it replaces. The new model comes with bold design changes and state-of-the-art technology. This version will reach markets in Asia and the United States. South Koreans are preparing other surprises for European customers.

Kia has reinvented Sportage. The fifth generation of the model proposes a robust and modern look. South Koreans take into account a dynamic and dramatic image. “A real work of art,” they said in a press release.

Sportage takes over the new design philosophy of the Asian house, Opposites United, and, implicitly, elements already familiar to the brand’s fans who saw the new electric model EV6. “I did not want to take a simple step forward. Instead, we wanted to take it to a new level in the SUV segment “, says Karim Habib, senior vice president and head of the Kia Design Division.

To design the new Kia Sportage, specialists from the global design network in Korea, Germany, the United States and China have joined forces.

The front of the model creates a strong impression. A black grille, with interesting graphic details, is flanked by daylight with a futuristic boomerang shape and LED technology. There are details that appeared in recent months at digital renderings circulating on the internet. Asians claim that the complex front forms a balance with simple surfaces. A redesigned front bar completes the image.

Kia has prepared clear lines for Sportage’s profile. For the first time in the range, there is a black roof, different from the paint on the rest of the body. The rear upright is sloping and short, the center line is high and the roof line is down, increasing the feeling of dynamism.

The taillights are joined by a light strip, in the style of the one from EV6, located at height.

Customers will be able to choose a Sportage X-Line version. It will come with a bar and different sills and roof bars. For the interior, the future owner of Sportage will be able to opt for either green or black.

The new Kia Sportage – an ultra-modern cabin

Sportage’s cabin has been completely reconfigured. The Asian manufacturer has created a driver-oriented space. A curved display integrates digital on-board instrumentation and touch screen and is flanked by high ventilation. This configuration ensures the image of a spacious interior.

In the middle tunnel, finished in glossy black, you can see a new selector for transmission, a rotary one, with the Park button in the center. The multimedia system can also be ordered from there. The new Kia Sportage receives new materials and new color options.

This version will only be available to Asian and American customers. Europeans will receive a car with a different design, which will be officially unveiled in September.
