The New Jersey Devils move into the NHL Thursday night with a sweeping 5-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings for the “Battle of the Hudson River” (Saturday, from 7:00 p.m. LIVE Stream >>>) in oscillation.
After a goalless first third, the Devils took the lead thanks to two powerplay goals from Dougie Hamilton (30′) and Nico Hischier (37′). In the final third, Michael McLeod (42nd), Alexander Holtz (47th) and Jack Hughes (54th) ensure clear conditions. Lucas Raymond scored the home side’s consolation goal in the majority (59th).
The Devils are second in the Metropolitan Division, five points behind the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Wilds also win 5:1
The Minnesota Wild also won 5-1 at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Austrian Marco Rossi, temporarily expelled in the Iowa farm team, is not yet part of the games.
The Wild are currently third in the Central Division, six and three points behind Dallas and Winnipeg, respectively.
The Anaheim Ducks get a 2-0 home win over the Dallas Stars.
