While the new Grand Cherokee is sold in the US with V6 or V8 engines, only a four-cylinder plug-in hybrid remains in Europe.

Jeep introduced the new generation Grand Cherokee model in January last year, but at the time it was an extended Cherokee L model that offered three rows of seats. The classic Grand Cherokee did not arrive until a few months later, but it is only officially coming to Europe this year.
Only now has Stellantis officially introduced the Jeep Grand Cherokee, model year 2022, to European markets. A model that has already taken root on the European continent as one of the few originally American SUVs, but will be available with only one engine – 4x.

As many of you probably know, this is a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with a pair of electric motors. The result is a combined power of up to 208 kW (380 hp) and 637 Nm of torque.
Overseas, the Grand Cherokee is also available with 3.6 V6 or 5.7 V8 HEMI engines, but we would not expect much from official imports given their emissions. The plug-in hybrid version will please at least a purely electric range of up to 51 km according to WLTP.
In the photos we see a model from the Exclusive Launch Edition, which will offer the best of the new Grand Cherokee repertoire. The body is decorated with Velvet Red (Baltic Gray, Bright White or Diamond Black are also available), chrome accessories are available and the roof is painted black. In the underbody we see 21 “alloy wheels, which will be available only until the end of March.
